1992 Captain Hans-Jürgen Kessel, founded Marine Consulting Bremen, a consultancy company for applied ship safety and marine accident investigation.
1994 Captain Kessel was appointed advisor to the Malta Maritime Authority (MMA), the shipping authority of one of the worlds largest shipping registers, one year later MCB were undertaking national consultancy work for the MMA.
2004 New assignments lead the team of proven shipping industry experts at MCB to undertake more technically varied contracts. Through collaboration with experienced shipping consultants and over 3000 ship inspections Captain Kessel & Associates has become a sought after consultancy partner in solving the complex issues of the shipping industry.
2010 German Marine Consulting Captain Kessl & Associates, a subsidiary of MCB, is founded for international assignments with the Head Office in Bremen.
2011 Captain Kessel & Associates opens agencies in India and China.
